Manchester United are reportedly considering three candidates for the sporting director role. However, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is in no rush to make a decision following the unexpected departure of Dan Ashworth.
Moreover, the Red Devils have no plans to pursue a key Paris Saint-Germain club chief to fill the role left behind by Ashworth.
The 53-year-old stepped into the role over the summer after a drawn-out process to bring him over from Newcastle, reportedly costing the club up to £10 million.
However, just five months in, Ashworth’s departure was announced on Sunday, putting new minority shareholders INEOS in a challenging spot.

TEAMtalk reported on Wednesday that the rumored links between Paris Saint-Germain advisor Luis Campos and Arsenal are unfounded. Similarly, there is no concrete interest from Manchester United.
Campos operates as a freelance advisor at PSG and collaborates with multiple clubs. However, his current contract with PSG prohibits him from working with other teams like United or Arsenal unless he parts ways with the French club.
His contract with PSG is set to expire at the end of the season, but the club is actively negotiating an extension. Sources indicate that Campos is prioritizing discussions with PSG over exploring opportunities elsewhere. Additionally, clubs like United and Arsenal typically require exclusivity, expecting senior recruitment personnel to join as full-time staff.
