With its defensive coordinator in place, Oklahoma State is rebuilding its defensive staff.
Kap Dede is set to become the new linebackers coach, per ESPN's Pete Thamel. Dede is currently the outside linebackers coach at Western Kentucky.
Dede has familiarity with new defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, working with him as a defensive analyst at Florida, Louisville and Mississippi State. The Auburn grad has also served as different positional roles at Charlotte, Colorado State and LIU over the years.
Dede, who was a defensive back at Auburn during his playing days and later signed with the NFL's New York Giants, began his coaching career at Auburn High School in 2011-12 and was the head coach at Woodbridge High School in Virginia in 2013-14.
Oklahoma State is coming off a 3-9 season where they fielded one of the worst defenses in program history, which wasn't helped by losing its two All-Big 12 linebackers to season-ending injuries.
Dede replaces Joe Bob Clements, who began coaching the linebackers in 2022 after joining Oklahoma State's staff in 2013.

WATCH: Cris Collinsworth confronted after saying Eli Manning 'is not that athletic'
The Sunday Night Football commentator found himself in some hot water after insulting a likely Hall of Famer
William SchwartzDec 10th, 9:05 AM
Former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is quite the accomplished NFL player- he's near the top of most cumulative passing statistic all-time lists, and he's won a pair of Super Bowls, both over the great Tom Brady. However, one thing he isn't is an exceptional athlete. From Steve Young to Lamar Jackson, plenty of quarterbacks throughout NFL histoyr have been effective rushers, but Manning is absolutely not part of that group.
Sunday Night Football commentator Cris Collinsworth is one of many analysts who have found this to be the case, but he walked into a bad situation for someone who's expressed such a sentiment on air. He was a guest for Eli and his Hall of Fame brother Peyton's "ManningCast," an alternate ESPN broadcast for Monday Night Football. Collinsworth sat down to talk through a game featuring the Cincinnati Bengals, the only pro team he ever played for, and was put on the hot seat before long.

During Collinsworth's visit to the ManningCast, the brothers pulled up a clip from years earlier, in which Collinsworth discusses Eli's ability to avoid sacks and frustrate defenses despite being "a guy who is really not that athletic." Even though the incident took place years ago, Eli clearly hasn't forgotten, and made sure to take the accomplished broadcaster to task now that he's finally had a chance.

Eli made sure to ask if Collinsworth had actually watched any film before making such an assertion, displaying a remarkable lack of self awareness, as thorough film study of his career would lead any educated viewer to exactly that conclusion- that the Giants legend was a bit short on athleticism. Of course, none of that matters when you win a pair of Super Bowls. This is Manning's first year on the Hall of Fame ballot, and he might not get in this year, but it's coming sooner rather than later, even if he wasn't much of an "athlete" as per the evaluation of Collinsworth and many others.
