Ruben Amorim confirms one Manchester United starter for Plzen clash, third start this season for chosen player

Ruben Amorim has confirmed one starter for Manchester United’s upcoming match with Plzen.

Manchester United have named a 24-man squad for the fixture in the Czech Republic, flying out after midday on November 11.

Head coach Ruben Amorim is expected to juggle his line-up around ahead of the Manchester derby this coming weekend.

And one decision has already been made, to give some more minutes to a player who needs them.

Tyrell Malacia will start the fixture

Speaking at his press conference after touching down at the home of Plzen, Ruben Amorim gave one hint regarding his team.

Amorim has confirmed Tyrell Malacia will start the fixture at left wing-back for the Red Devils.

The other 10 positions are open to guesswork, although a near certainty Andre Onana continues in goal, despite his error at the weekend against Nottingham Forest.

Malacia appeared at the press conference alongside Amorim, with the head coach confirming the Netherlands international would start.

Malacia has two starts this season

The start would be Tyrell Malacia’s third start this season since returning from a long-term injury lay-off, that saw him miss 18 months.

Malacia is a valuable player for the squad, the only fit left-back, with Luke Shaw suffering another injury.

The Dutchman made his comeback against Bodo/Glimt, before starting away at Arsenal, where he put in a much improved performance.

Malacia played only 45 minutes in each fixture. United may look to ramp this up in the Czech Republic, although will of course be wary of doing too much.

It is unlikely he would be a starter in the derby on Sunday, with United taking care with his return.
