A host of Meta apps were unavailable to users worldwide Wednesday.
The social media company acknowledged the outage in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
“We’re aware that a technical issue is impacting some users’ ability to access our apps. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience,” the post at 10:48 a.m. reads.
App users reported Facebook, Instagram, Threads and Messenger all were down, according to Downdetector.
The outage was first reported around 10 a.m. Pacific time and quickly grew to more than 200,000 reports.
Media reports indicated the outage was global, affecting the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, Asia and parts of South America.
Nearly 3.3 billion people worldwide use a Meta app monthly, according to the company. In March, the company experience a similar outage.
