The Ohio State Buckeyes are busy preparing for the Tennessee Volunteers in the college football playoffs. One coach on the Buckeyes staff who fans love a lot is co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Brian Hartline. Hartline has been known for recruiting top wide receivers to the program and getting them into the NFL.

One college football job that is currently open for a new head coach is the West Virginia Mountaineers. With Ohio and West Virginia being next to each other on the map, it could make sense for Hartline to make a move elsewhere.

The West Virginia Mountaineers are looking for a new head coach after they fired Neal Brown. West Virginia is looking to be viable once again in the college football landscape in the BIG12 Conference. According to Chris Anderson of 247sports, the Mountaineers interviewed Buckeyes offensive coordinator Brian Hartline for the opening.
It will be interesting to see if Hartline would leave Ohio State for West Virginia. The Buckeyes could very well have a head coaching opening themselves if they were to lose to the Tennessee Volunteers. Would Brian Hartline want to wait and see if Ohio State let go of Ryan Day as head coach or does he want something else now? It could get interesting.

The receiver upgrade would be crazy! If Hartline does get this job. You have to keep Hudson Clement, he’s going to be a pro just need to unlock him.

I don’t see it happening tho since they’re in the playoffs, same with PSU OC I don’t see them jumping ship weeks before playoffs start

It would be a huge loss for the Buckeyes football program if Brian Hartline left for the Mountaineers. Ohio State fans would be upset that he would be leaving instead of Ryan Day and Chip Kelly. Things could be messy in Columbus, Ohio, but things could be getting sunny in Morgantown, West Virginia, if they were to hire Hartline as the next head coach.
