The Kansas City Chiefs have struggled to replace Jaylen Watson after he broke his Tibia and Fibula in Week 7 against the 49ers. While the Chiefs recently plucked Steven Nelson out of retirement to try and help their secondary, another former Chiefs cornerback just signed with a new team.
According to Aaron Wilson, the New York Giants are bringing in Ekow Boye-Doe.

Boye-Doe was raised in Kansas and attended Kansas State from 2018-2022. Boye-Doe played 42 games as a Wildcat, recording 74 tackles, 14 pass deflections, three TFLs, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
While Boye-Doe didn't create many turnovers in college the Chiefs thought he had the skills to develop in the NFL. As a result, Boye-Doe was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2023 and spent the first 12 weeks of the season on the practice squad.
Then, heading Week 13 of last season Boye-Doe was called up to the active roster. Despite being called Boye-Doe never saw the field in 2023. Nevertheless, he still received a Super Bowl ring when the Chiefs defeated the 49ers.
Unfortunately, for Boye-Doe the Chiefs waived him on August 26, 2024. Yet, with how much the Chiefs cornerback's have struggled without Watson it is interesting that Boye-Doe may never have been given a call.
While he has never played an NFL he did spend the last two month of the 2023 season in Kansas City's cornerback room presumably learning the playbook and how to play in the NFL. With Andy Reid's desire to bring in free agents familiar with the Chiefs playbooks Boye-Doe is a candidate that fits that mold.
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if Boye-Doe has success in New York.
