Chelsea will have to fork out close to €100 million if they want to sign Barcelona attacking mainstay Raphinha.
According to a report from Fichajes, Chelsea will have to break the bank and table an offer of around €100 million to acquire the services of Raphinha. They have already had a bid rejected from Barcelona and have been made aware of the Catalan club’s demands.
Raphinha’s future was a major talking point last summer. Despite his consistent performances, the Brazilian international was linked with a move away from the club. Barcelona were reportedly looking to cash in on him and use the raised funds to bolster other areas on the pitch.
Things didn’t go according to plan and the 27-year-old winger ended up staying at the Spanish club. He managed to impress Hansi Flick and became a key part of his plans. The Brazilian international is currently enjoying the best season of his life.
While he prefers playing on the right flank, the German manager has used him on the left and he has proved to be quite effective in that position. He has 16 goals and 10 assists in his 22 outings and is one of the major reasons why Barcelona are competing for all major titles.
Chelsea will have to pay a fortune for Raphinha
His performances haven’t gone unnoticed and multiple top clubs are looking to raid Barcelona to secure his services. Todd Boehly’s Chelsea are constantly on the lookout for players who can further bolster their squad. They are looking for a proven talent and Raphinha perfectly fits the bill.
Not only is he in the form of his life, but the 27-year-old has also proven himself in the English top flight back in the day. The Blues consider him a perfect fit for their system and had already tabled an offer worth €60 million along with another €25 million as add-ons.
But, the offer was knocked back by the Spanish giants who have made it quite clear that any negotiations for Raphinha will have to begin at a minimum of €100 million. Barcelona are aware of his importance to their team and will only let go of him for some crazy money.
