Head coach Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions made the bold decision to go for it on 4th down and inches with the game hanging in the balance late in the fourth quarter against the Green Bay Packers.
The call paid off, as Detroit would win the game on a walk-off field goal.
NFL legend and ESPN analyst Tedy Bruschi was later quoted as saying, “Don’t put Dan Campbell on my sideline. I just don’t know, I don’t know the emotional control of this coach.”
On his podcast Wednesday, former All-Pro cornerback and current Thursday Night Football analyst Richard Sherman responded to Bruschi’s take.
“I have a problem when people have a problem with something that isn’t a problem…What does it matter to you,” Sherman said.

Sherman stated that although Bruschi played the game one way in New England with the Patriots and won Super Bowls, there can be more than one way to win a game.
The culture Dan Campbell brought to Detroit has been built on aggressiveness and physicality.
Detroit did not want to settle and give Green Bay any time left on the clock to go down and tie or win the game.
Campbell made the aggressive call that ended up being the right one in the end.
Bruschi’s take was certainly interesting and fair to bring up, but it was proven wrong again by Campbell’s desire not to settle for the easy option.
