While we're still way too early to even be thinking about the official 2025 NFL schedule release, the formulaic way that most of a team's opponents are set in a given year means that we know most of the matchups well ahead of time.
For the Kansas City Chiefs, 14 of their 17 opponents for the 2025 season were already set before 2024 even kicked off — including whether each will be a home game or a road game. But that left three big mystery opponents, who are decided on based on 2024 divisional seeding.
And now, with the Chiefs officially locking up the No. 1 spot in the AFC West, one of these opponents has been revealed. The No. 1 seed in the AFC West (so now, the Chiefs) was set to play a road game against the No. 1 seed in the AFC East, and that division has been locked up too. The Chiefs' reward for winning their division is that they will travel to Buffalo for a regular season game in 2025.
Here's a deeper look at the known Chiefs opponents for 2025, which we will keep update as more details of the schedule are confirmed.
The Chiefs will have the good fortunte of playing nine home games in 2025. The unforunate part is that two of those are still unknown games which will come against division winners. Here's what we know about all nine of these home games:

Denver Broncos

The Chiefs not only have the benefit of only playing eight road games (compared to the nine at home), but outside of the Bills these are pretty soft matchups. The Jacksonville Jaugars and Tennessee Titans out of the AFC South and Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants out of the NFC East are potentially the easiest matchups available in each division. Getting to be at home for the games against the tougher opponents will be a nice boost.

It's obviously incredibly early to be talking strength of schedule — the full list of opponents isn't even set and there's still an offseason to change everything. But it's worth considering that the Chiefs have five games on the schedule against teams that Tankathon currenlty has lined up for top-six draft picks. On the other side of the coin, including the two unknown division winners, the Chiefs will get nine games against teams currently in line to make the playoffs.
