Cardinals kicker Matt Prater has been on Injured Reserve for nearly two months with a left knee injury, but coach Jonathan Gannon said he hopes to see the 18-year veteran make his return this season. With four games left on the schedule, the opportunity to bring back players is shrinking.
"He's getting better day-by-day," Gannon said. "One day at a time, and we'll go from there."
Punter Blake Gillikin (right foot) [did not practice](https://www.azcardinals.com/news/cardinals-add-punter-michael-palardy-to-practice-squad-blake-gillikin) on Wednesday. Running back Emari Demercado (back) and right tackle Kelvin Beachum (rest) joined him as non-participants.
Cornerback Elijah Jones (ankle) continues to work towards being activated to the 53-man roster. The third-rounder had his practice window opened last week. He was limited, as was defensive lineman Darius Robinson (calf), defensive lineman Naquan Jones (shoulder), defensive lineman Roy Lopez (ankle), and tight end Trey McBride (knee)
For the Patriots, wideout Javon Baker (concussion) and cornerback Marcu Jones (illness) didn't practice. Cornerback Christian Gonzalez (shoulder) was among those limited.
