Ruud van Nistelrooy has a genuine 'wonderkid' at Leicester that'll soon be a household name -…

Leicester City have a rich history of producing talented players from their academy.

Gary Lineker is the prime example of that, whilst Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Harvey Barnes and Ben Chilwell are more recent cases.

Hamza Choudhury and Luke Thomas are currently flying that flag, having polished their skillset at Leicester’s old training ground, Belvoir Drive.

Will Alves, Sammy Braybrooke and Ben Nelson seem like the next crop of players ready to make that step up into the first team.

But, there’s another incredibly special talent who might genuinely deserve the wonderkid tag and Ruud van Nistelrooy should be keeping a close eye on him with the current injury issues out wide.

Jeremy Monga could be a future superstar for Leicester

Leicester fans are starting to hear the name Jeremy Monga a lot more now.

The 15-year-old whizkid has stepped up to the under-21s this term and has looked lightyears above players who are six years his senior.

Monga was just six-years-old when Leicester lifted the Premier League title, which helps put his age into perspective.

The England youth international is progressing at an unprecedented rate and it surely won’t be too long until he gets the call-up to van Nistelrooy’s first team.

TheSecretScout, who is an expert in all things youth football, revealed in September that Monga was watched by scouts from the Premier League’s top six whilst away on international duty.

In a bid to ward of interest, Leicester may be forced to fast-track the jet-heeled winger.

The Foxes have already seen highly-rated youngster Trey Nyoni depart for Liverpool over the last 18 months.

🚨 All eyes over in Spain, as Premier League’s top 6 scouts were in attendance as they saw Leicester’s U16 Jeremy Monga score and assist in an England 3-0 win over Ukraine.

Leicester are really short of options out wide with star winger Abdul Fatawu sidelined for the remainder of the season after sustaining an ACL injury.

That leaves Stephy Mavididi and Kasey McAteer as the only two natural wide players at the club, so surely Monga will be considered for selection in the near future.

Van Nistelrooy has already named checked teenage duo Will Alves and Michael Golding as potential options for the trip to Newcastle, so he’s clearly willing to give youth a chance.

Perhaps Monga could be given his big break and then, it might not be too long before he’s a household name.

Though, like all young players, he shouldn’t be rushed and must be nutured accordingly.
