Patrick Mahomes Has Honest Admission About ‘Close Games’

The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs are trying to make NFL history this season, as they want to become the first team in the league to win three straight titles, and the team is well on its way, winning all but one game so far during the 2024 campaign.

Although the Chiefs are sporting an impressive record of 12-1, which tied for the best in the league with the Detroit Lions, who could very well be their opponent in the Super Bowl if they make it that far, the team has barely gotten by throughout the season with close game after close game on seemingly a weekly basis.

Every week, the Chiefs seem to win by the skin of their teeth, which has made some wonder whether this team can go the distance for a third straight year.

Superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes recently opened up about playing in these close games and how he’s not impervious to getting nervous during these close-game situations.

“I think when I’m not on the field, I’m nervous as well. So, I mean, I have total confidence in our defense and everything like that, but when it’s out of your hands, it’s hard not to be a little nervous,” Mahomes said.

After barely getting by the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers last week in Kansas City, the Chiefs will go on the road this week to take on the lowly Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field.

The Chiefs will play three of their last four regular-season games on the road, starting with the Browns, followed by the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos in the last two games.
