Jalen Reveals His Truth On A.J. Rumors

Jalen Hurts didn't say much when the Philadelphia Eagles walked off the field in Sunday's 22-16 win over the Carolina Panthers but knew it wasn't his best game.

After A.J. Brown spoke up about the team's struggles in the passing game, and Brandon Graham spoke up about his relationship with Brown, though, a bad game from Hurts appeared to be cascading into full panic mode for the Eagles.

It's what made the quarterback's comments so important Wednesday evening.

Speaking to reporters for the first time following Philly's win and recent comments made about his skillset and relationship with Brown, Hurts not only poured water over a burning fire but completely shut any and all rumors down.

"We're good," Hurts said about his relationship with Brown. "BG knows he spoke out of place ... Sometimes things change as dynamics change but for him, he knows I have a lot of love for him.

"He wants to win, he damn sure wants the ball. He wants to make an impact on the game and I respect that. It's just like all of us."

Hurts' comments were echoed by his top receiver just a few short moments before when Brown stated the quarterback and him were "good" and that previous comments made about the struggling passing offense were not a direct reflection of only Hurts' performance.

Wednesday was a massive day for the Eagles to move past the off-field drama of the last few days. Both head coach Nick Sirianni and left tackle Jordan Mailata stated that the team was focused on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The dynamic between Hurts and Brown is an important part of the team's future, though.

And with Philadelphia's passing offense among the worst in the league, questions will continue about how the team continues to find ways to win while being a run-first team.

In the end, though, Hurts only cares about one thing. And it's what every other fanbase would kill to be a part of right now.

"It's about the team. I don't care how it looks. It's kinda my game and I think that's something that people have to accept," Hurts stated. "It's going to look how Jalen Hurts wants it to look, you know, but he's going to win."

To say Wednesday was one of the more important press conferences of the Hurts era with the Eagles would be an understatement. It's why the team appears to be as close as ever going into a key week against the Steelers.

With their quarterback and top receiver in hoped-for lockstep.
