COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Broncos vs. Colts match-up at Empower Field has a ton of playoff implications on the line. Denver sitting at 8-5 two games ahead of the Colts. For the Broncos defense it’s all about stopping a talented running back in Jonathan Taylor.
“That is one of the best running backs in the league. Dude can do everything he can, shake somebody. He can run over you. He can outrun people. We pride ourselves on stopping the run so if we are going to say that then it’s our turn to live up to it,” said defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers.
The Broncos had a week and a half to look at the film of Jameis Winston throwing for 497 yards, now Denver isn’t expecting Riley Moss to play. So whoever fills that second cornerback role has to step up.
“You clean stuff up, you change it and you keep pushing it. This is the NFL, I know we want to display good football each and every week. We just got to go out there and make plays the best you can and keep moving forward,” said cornerback Levi Wallace.
“I think those guys have came in when needed and have helped us in the past the same time we understand that it is different than as a defensive line. We got to be better. We got to get the quarterback down and we got to make their job easier,” Myers said.
This is the most important game for the Broncos since 2015, Denver currently has a 73% chance at making a playoffs, with a win it goes up to 91, but with a loss it drops down to 51. You can watch the game at 2:25 on KKTV.
