3 standout performers from Arsenal's thumping win over Monaco

Arsenal kept up their European form on Wednesday evening as they sealed an all-important3-0 victory over Monaco.

The Gunners were the superior side in the first half and their dominance paid off when Bukayo Saka was on hand to tap home Gabriel Jesus' square ball. Having held off a valiant Monaco, Mikel Arteta's side extended their lead late in the second half with Saka curling home to grab his second. Kai Havertz put the stamp on victory just before full-time when he deflected in Saka's shot.

It was yet another excellent team performance from the Gunners as they put themselves in a great position to qualify for the Champions League round of 16 without having to suffer through the play-offs. Despite the good all-round showing, there were three players that stood out in the 3-0 win over Monaco.

Myles Lewis-Skelly

Making his first ever start in the Champions League, Myles Lewis-Skelly certainly rose to the occasion. Starting on the left side of a makeshift defence, the academy graduate put in a brilliant performance for his side.

The left-back made his presence known in the first half as he played his part in both attack and defence. With a 95% pass accuracy, the youngster was arguably his side's best player before the break.

Lewis-Skelly also played a key part in Arsenal's opening goal when he linked up well with Gabriel Jesus before the Brazilian passed for Bukayo Saka to finish the move. It was certainly a standout showing from the Hale End graduate who has made the point that he should be considered for selection in future games.
