Davante Adams Reveals Plans For Future With Jets, Aaron Rodgers

The battle for the NFL's biggest mess is playing out in New York, where the Jets and Giants are both having forgettably horrible seasons.

The 2-11 Giants are clinging to the No. 1 overall pick in next April's draft while jostling between backup quarterbacks Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito. Surprisingly, the Jets are enduring a nightmare season despite keeping 40-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers upright and relatively healthy all season.

Since a 2-1 start, the Jets have lost nine of 10 to fall to 3-10 and embarrassingly short of their preseason Super Bowl hopes. In the process, the team has fired both head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas.

Even a bold trade-deadline deal for All-Pro receiver Rodgers' favorite all-time target Davante Adams didn't change their downward spiral. In seven games, he has 40 catches for 453 yards and three touchdowns. The Jets are only 1-6 since acquiring Adams.

As speculation begins in earnest about 2025 and the future of Rodgers, questions are also beginning to swirl about Adams.

Amid ongoing rumors over both Jets stars' futures with the team, Adams hopped on the Up & Adams Show this week to ponder his thoughts on what could be the last games of the once-dynamic Rodgers-Adams duo.

"I mean, it'll be a sad thing for sure, but hopefully that's not the case," Adams said. "That's why we gotta make the most of these ones that we have hereā€¦ We had a decent showing last game and I do say decent because it's not up to our standard of greatness, but it was definitely a step in the right direction. We're inching to where we wanna be. Just finish this season out strong."

They are the NFL's No. 4 all-time quarterback-receiver combination, combining for 79 touchdowns.

Adams, 31, is under contract for 2025 and 2026 but at a hefty $35 million against the salary cap. Will the Jets blow it all up in the offseason and start from scratch? Will Adams want to stay in New York is Rodgers hangs 'em up?

Said Adams, "I truly don't have the answer to it right now."
