The Olympique Lyon winger almost made the move to Fulham on Deadline Day this summer.

Crystal Palace have been credited with transfer interest in Lyon winger Ernest Nuamah to breathe new life into a deal to bring the 21-year-old to the Premier League after a failed medical at Fulham on Deadline Day this summer.

Nuamah reportedly broke down in tears during the medical with the Cottagers with L'Equipe claiming that the player had been pushed out the door at Lyon and did not want to leave the French side. The forward is believed to have flown to London for the move but was desperate to stay in France, reportedly failing to turn up for the final stages of the medical process ahead of a £16 million transfer.

Nuamah returned to Lyon and has made a handful of cameos this season but is struggling to make an impact with the side, with just one assist to his name this season. He's enjoyed more regular minutes in the Europa League but has still started just one of his side's five matches in that tournament.

As a result, a potential Premier League move is being mooted once again with FootMercao naming the Eagles and Everton as interested parties, alongside Fulham.

Nuamah joined Lyon from Belgian side Molenbeek in July after a loan spell with the club last season. The French club paid £23.5 million for his services with the winger signing a four-year deal.

Despite having just arrived as a permanent transfer, it is thought that a permanent sale would be advantageous to Lyon given their financial woes.

Crystal Palace have scored just 14 Premier League goals this season with Oliver Glasner's side lacking impetus, not helped by the departure of Michael Olise this summer. Only bottom-placed Southampton have managed fewer goals so far this term.

Everton have mustered the same goal tally this year and risk losing striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin in January with the club reportedly considering cashing in on the player as he contract nears its end. Arsenal and West Ham are believed to be looking at a potential move for the striker.
