Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders was in New York for the Knicks' NBA matchup against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.
Sanders, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, got a special celebrity shoutout on the Madison Square Garden video board during the Knicks' 108-100 loss.
Sanders is projected as one of the top picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. In fact, there's some serious buzz around him landing with the New York Giants as the franchise's quarterback of the future.
The Giants, who benched and cut Daniel Jones earlier this season, are currently tied with the Las Vegas Raiders for the worst record in the league (2-11).
Sanders' appearance at MSG is going viral on Wednesday night.
"Shedeur Sanders soaking in the love at MSG. Imagine this energy if he's drafted to the Giants. NYC is ready for a star like him!" one fan wrote.
"I mean come on guys it can't be anymore obvious than this," another said.
"He could be starting for Giants next season," another added.
Sanders finished his 2024 regular season with a Big 12-leading 3,926 yards and 35 touchdowns on a 74.2 completion percentage. The Buffaloes' star signal caller will play in his team's Alamo Bowl matchup against BYU on Dec. 28.
"Yeah, we're playing for a purpose at the end of the day," Sanders said of playing in the bowl game. "It's for those teammates that didn't have the seasons that they want to have, and they still got one more opportunity. So we all got to show up and show out."
