Expert Available to Comment on Upcoming International IPBES “Nexus” Biodiversity Report

The Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) Nexus Assessment, a major global scientific assessment on biodiversity, will be released at a global gathering during a hybrid in-person and online press conference in Windhoek, Namibia, on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, at 8 a.m. EST (13:00 UK GMT/14:00 CET)

Pamela McElwee, co-chair of the IPBES Nexus Assessment, professor, Department of Human Ecology, Rutgers University School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, is available for interviews.

The Report has been in development for more than three years, and was led by led by co-chairs Professor Pamela McElwee of Rutgers University and Professor Paula Harrison of the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, United Kingdom. The report was prepared by 165 experts from 57 countries. The Report will be considered and is expected to be approved at the eleventh session of the IPBES Plenary (#IPBES11, 10-16 December 2024).
