Leeds United are undergoing a change to their recruitment team at the moment but they are not the only big English club to be shaking things up upstairs.
Gretar Steinsson has been given a promotion. Playing a prominent role in the Leeds recruitment team and the face of a three-man party alongside Jordan Miles and Nick Hammond, Steinsson has gone up a level.
The 49ers have put Steinsson in charge of The 49ers global footballing infrastructure. It means the former Bolton defender will continue to work with Leeds, but not on a day-to-day basis as he had done before.
Miles, only just recruited from Aberdeen in the last 12 months, is also departing while Hammond remains. Similar changes are happening at rivals Manchester United, with Dan Ashworth leaving after five months.

Former Leeds United striker a contender to replace Dan Ashworth
Manchester United, like Leeds, are looking to re-distribute duties to those that remain in the Old Trafford recruitment team. Jason Wilcox, a former Leeds and England player, is currently their technical director.
Ashworth only joined Manchester United five months ago after his controversial move from Newcastle. But the former England figure is now set to go, and Man United may look to bring in a replacement.
The Daily Mail say Man United may cover his responsibilities with those still on board, but they could also hire someone else and Wilcox could be joined by another former Leeds player, namely Dougie Freedman.

Dougie Freedman reputation growing after Crystal Palace work
Towards the end of his playing days back in 2007-08, Freedman went on loan to Leeds while the club was in League One. Freedman played 14 times for Leeds, scoring six goals but is since shining post-playing.
MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIES
After a few spells as a manager at Palace, Forest and Bolton, he has since spent more than seven years at Palace as sporting director. He’s responsible for signing Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi.
Little surprise then that Manchester United are long-term admirers of the 50-year-old’s work and The Mail’s report says they could swoop for Freedman as a replacement for Ashworth at Old Trafford.
So, if Man United raid Palace for Freedman in the coming weeks and months, it could see two former Leeds players in the transfer team as Ruben Amorim approaches his first transfer window as manager.
