Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has confirmed one guaranteed starter for today’s Europa League clash against Viktoria Plzen on the road.
The Red Devils suffered a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League last weekend and they have the opportunity to make amends this evening.
The club take on Plzen at the Doosan Arena and Amorim has already confirmed that defender Tyrell Malacia will be in the starting line-up for the game.
Malacia accompanied Amorim in the pre-match presser where the Portuguese acknowledged that the Dutchman will be featuring from the off against Plzen.
Malacia recently returned to action after spending 17 months on the sidelines due to multiple knee surgeries.
He had a tough comeback game against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League where he was at fault for one of the goals.
Malacia looked more composed in the first half against Arsenal this month, but he was taken off at the interval.
The Dutchman, who has been hailed as ‘amazing‘ by manager Erik ten Hag, has another big chance to prove his worth.
Diogo Dalot has impressed as a left-back in the past, but he has struggled from the wing-back position under Amorim.
This has opened the door for others to capitalise. Malacia is one of those who could take advantage of Dalot’s lean form.
