Things have gone from bad to worse for Newcastle United, as Callum Wilson has now suffered an injury and is set to be out for a couple of months.
Newcastle United have had their fair share of injury issues at striker already this season, with Alexander Isak missing a period which saw Anthony Gordon deputise up top.
And things just got even more complicated for the Magpies, as Callum Wilson is a casualty.
Craig Hope has reported that the striker has suffered a hamstring injury, which is set to sideline him for the next two months.

This has put any interest from Leicester City or West Ham in Callum Wilson on the backburner.
And Hope’s response about the plans Newcastle have in January won’t please many supporters.
Newcastle United have no plans to sign a striker in January despite Callum Wilson’s injury
A striker you would think would be high up on Newcastle’s priority list, but it seems as if they’re more than happy to wait until the summer transfer window.

In the same report as he broke the news in, Craig Hope revealed that Newcastle won’t be signing a striker in January as things stand.
He states that Isak is fit and they see Gordon as his back-up. However, an injury to either of those would see funds diverted to a striker. A right-sided forward is the priority and, as in the summer, a right-sided centre-back is also a position of focus.
A striker surely has to be the priority
Alexander Isak only returned from injury recently, so to think you can rely on him to stay fit for the rest of the season seems crazy.
Gordon isn’t an out-and-out striker, and Osula can’t be trusted, as stated before.
A right-forward is stated as a target, but it remains to be seen as to who that could be, as Bryan Mbuemo will be out of the price range for January.
This is another transfer decision that could come back to bite Newcastle, though there is still another few weeks of games to see what develops.
