A weak surface low-pressure system from the east, accompanied by an extension of a high-pressure system in the upper layers of the atmosphere, brought light rain to scattered areas of the country on Wednesday.
Rain fell on the northern Zakum field in Abu Dhabi, Al Nahwa in Sharjah and other areas.
The lowest temperature in the country was recorded in Rakna in Al Ain city, at 9.9°C at 7:00 am on Wednesday, according to the National Centre of Metrology (NCM).
The NCM expects that the weather on Thursday will be partially cloudy to cloudy at times, with the potential for low clouds to develop, accompanied by light precipitation in some coastal areas and islands during the day. Humidity levels are expected to be elevated at night and on Friday morning, with a possibility of fog or light fog forming in some inland regions.
Winds are expected to be northeasterly to southeasterly, with speeds ranging from light to moderate, occasionally active, reaching 10 to 25kph, with the potential to exceed 40kph.
Wave conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are expected to be light to moderate.
The weather on Friday is expected to be clear to partly cloudy and humid night, with the potential for the formation of fog or light fog in some inland and coastal areas.
Winds are expected to be northwesterly to southeasterly, with speeds ranging from light to moderate, and occasionally active, reaching speeds of 10 to 25 up to 35kph.
Wave conditions are expected to be light in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Saturday’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy at times over some coastal and northern areas and islands, with a possibility of light precipitation. Humidity levels are expected to be high at night and on Sunday morning, with a potential for fog or light fog to form over some inland areas. Winds are expected to be southeasterly, later shifting to northwesterly.
These winds will be light to moderate in speed, occasionally active, with a speed of 10 to 25kph, reaching 35kph.
Wave conditions will be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and light in the Sea of Oman. The weather on Sunday is expected to be cloudy, with the potential for precipitation in some northern and eastern areas, and the possibility of high humidity during the night and on Monday morning, leading to fog or light fog to form in some inland areas. Winds are expected to be light to moderate, with occasional gusts, and blowing from the northwest to northeast at speeds ranging from 10 to 25kph. The waves are expected to be light to medium in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
