When legendary Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce stepped away from football last year, one of his stated reasons for doing so was a desire to spend more time with his family. That rationale made a lot of sense- he and his wife Kylie have three young daughters, and now we know a fourth is on the way, and he appears to really enjoy supporting his brother Travis, a superstar tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, at his own football games.
However, that's not exactly how things have played out, according to Kylie. She launched a new podcast this week, called "Not Gonna Lie," and in the first episode, she discussed how life has changed since Jason pulled off the winged helmet for the last time.

As he's made the move to a career in the media side of football, the shift hasn't been exactly what you might imagine it to be. Jason doesn't seem to have fewer professional obligations these days, just different ones Kylie stated that even when Jason says he'll be home, she still makes other arrangements for child care when she's not going to be free because he's simply that busy- duty can call at any time.

Perhaps Jason's best-known media venture is his podcast, "New Heights," which he co-hosts with Travis. It's wildly popular, but with just one weekly episode, it's not a huge strain on his schedule, and certainly not a new one, as the brothers launched the show while Jason was still playing.
He's picked up plenty of new work, however. He's part of ESPN's "Monday Night Countdown" studio team ahead of Monday Night Football broadcasts, and will be hosting a late-night talk show with the network starting this January as the NFL gets into playoff mode.
Kylie stated that while the NFL schedule was rigorous, it was also very concrete. That lack of flexibility can provide challenges, but a key benefit as well- you know exactly what your calendar looks like months in advance. Now, things are much more up in the air, with production meetings and other engagements able to pop out of nowhere with essentially no warning.
We'll see if things calm down for Jason as he settles into this new career in the months and years to come. There are always growing pains when stepping into a new field, but he'll likely want to participate in some of that long-awaited family time, especially with yet another daughter set to join the family soon. With a media career of her own kicking off, Kylie might appreciate it if her husband is able to be around the kids a bit more, but that might just have to wait, as the Kelce grind appears to never truly stop.
