**Brighton and Hove Albion have secured the services of 21-year-old Paraguayan midfielder Diego Gomez, who will make the move from Inter Miami.**

The official transfer is set for 1 January 2025, aligning with the opening of the transfer window, pending regulatory approval.

Starting his career at Club Libertad in Paraguay, Gomez, he tallied 52 appearances, scoring six goals and adding four assists over 14 months.

Gomez's subsequent move to MLS saw him joining Inter Miami, a club partly owned by football legend David Beckham.

He made an immediate impact, scoring in his first match against New York Red Bulls. In the current season, he helping Miami reach the MLS playoffs and secure a spot in the next Club World Cup.

His international career has been similarly impressive, scoring the decisive goal against Brazil in a World Cup qualifier and participating in the Olympics, where Paraguay reached the quarter-finals.

Brighton's head coach, Fabian Hurzeler, expressed enthusiasm about Gomez's upcoming stint with the club.

"We're looking forward to working with Diego very soon. He has already made a real impression both at club and international level," Hurzeler commented.

He added, "Like all young players who come to us from abroad he will need a period of adjustment to the Premier League, but I feel he can make a big contribution and I’m looking forward to working with him."
