Liverpool picked up another win on Tuesday as they made it 19 out of 22 matches across the season so far.
The Reds have been in phenomenal shape and look good for a tilt at both the Premier League and Champions League under Arne Slot.
Key to it all has, as ever, been Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian was the match-winner again in midweek, dispatching a second-half penalty to see off Girona.
And although Salah was not at his best in Spain, the 32-year-old still stepped up to be the difference maker.
Salah has now scored 16 goals in all competitions this season, at least seven more than anyone else in the Liverpool squad. The Reds’ over reliance on their Egyptian King makes constant talk over his future all the more worrying.
And as negotiations with Salah reach crunch time, Jamie Carragher has given an honest answer about whether he thinks the No.11 will stay at Anfield beyond this season.

Jamie Carragher backs Mohamed Salah stay
Liverpool did not need his recent purple patch to let them know just how important Salah is to them.
The former Chelsea man has become a Liverpool legend over the course of his seven-year stay on Merseyside so far.

And speaking on the Stick To Football podcast on Thursday morning, Carragher backed Salah to eventually sign on to stay at Anfield, citing a lack of other, top-level options as a reason why.
“I don’t think he will,” said the 46-year-old when told by Roy Keane that Salah would have ‘plenty of other options should he leave Liverpool. “Listen, I love Mo Salah he’s one of the best players in the world. But the reason I say this is because of his age.”

“Let’s say for instance he’s on £400k-per-week, and I don’t like throwing numbers out like that. When you’re on that type of money and you’re talking about a raise, it’s not 10 grand per week or 20 grand per week. So, let’s say he wants a little bit more.
“Real Madrid have got, how many attackers? Barcelona are in dire straits financially, PSG are nowhere near the team yet. So, there’s only four or five teams who could realistically win the Champions League – and Liverpool are probably one of them – I don’t see him at any of those two or three teams right now.
“I think he will stay because there aren’t too many options,” Carragher concluded. “I don’t think he’s ready to go to Saudi, he can do that in three years time. I think he’s that driven as a footballer in terms of getting records for Liverpool.”
Does Carragher have inside information?
While Carragher’s opinion is always worth listening to – the man knows football inside out – it’s important to note that this is all this is; an opinion.
On the same show, Carragher said he tried to get information on Salah’s contract from Liverpool, as he knew he’d have to speak publicly about it.
But the former Reds defender admitted that his old club were not giving anything away about Mo.
As a result, Carragher is going purely off his own experience and knowledge of the game, not anything tangible.
Nevertheless, his logic is still sound. Rumours about Salah moving to Saudi Arabia haven’t gone away, but the Egypt captain looks fully capable of playing in Europe for years to come. Hopefully that will be at Liverpool.
