Alphonso Davies, who went from a surefire extension with Bayern Munich to the brink of a transfer to Real Madrid, is now leaning towards extending with the Rekordmeister to the chagrin of Los Blancos:
Real Madrid is growing increasingly pessimistic about the prospect of signing Alphonso Davies. The Canadian has gone from being ‘close’ to an agreement with Madrid to being 50-50. Real are unwilling to ‘play games’ or go into a bidding war, salary-wise, they want a final answer from Davies by January at the latest, otherwise they will move on and look for alternatives. Bayern have made two recent approaches to Davies’ agent - so far, they’ve not reached a renewal agreement with the player, but they made him reconsider and doubt the Real Madrid option.

Davies has regained his form after an apparent slump, which gives Bayern more incentive to keep hold of him at all costs. Madrid want answers now; if Davies doesn’t give them that, it more or less seals his future.
