TalkSPORT pundit claims Chelsea have “the best” in the league in one area

Gabriel Agbonlahor believes there’s no reason Chelsea can’t win the title and claimed the Blues have the best bench in the league.

Chelsea have made a brilliant start to life under Enzo Maresca and currently find themselves second in the league after beating Tottenham 4-3 on Sunday.

Maresca’s men are four points behind leaders Liverpool who have a game in hand, whilst they are two points clear of Arsenal in third and four ahead of Manchester City in fourth.

Chelsea are very much exceeding expectations at this point, with Maresca himself admitting they are ahead of where he thought they would be.

The Blues have lost just two of their 15 league matches and only one since the opening day of the season, which has led to talk about challenging for the title.

Maresca has played down that talk on multiple occasions this season, but with every win the Blues chalk up the conversation gets louder and louder.

Enzo Fernandez has stated Chelsea are trying to avoid unrealistic expectations, whilst the club have insisted they won’t be setting targets for the season until March.

However, that hasn’t stopped pundits having their say and Agbonlahor believes there’s no reason why the Blues can’t win the title.

“There’s no reason Chelsea can’t win the league,” he told talkSPORT as cited on X.com.

“They’re strong, aggressive, young, fit, they’ve got legs, they’ve got everything you need in a squad of players. If you look at their bench, they’ve got the best bench in the Premier League.”

There’s no doubt Chelsea are in a great position and the squad depth and quality they have is very good, but it just feels like it’s a year too early for this group to challenge.

The vast majority of the squad still lack experience and know how in the big moments, whilst for a lot of the players the Carabao Cup final last season was the biggest game of their careers.

The Blues are very happy taking things one game at a time, but the longer they keep winning the harder it will be to play down talk of the title.
