The Michigan Wolverines will have a new offensive coordinator on the sidelines next season in former Auburn Tigers and North Carolina Tar Heels' OC Chip Lindsey, a hire that drew attention from one of his most high profile former players, Kerryon Johnson, on Wednesday.
Johnson played for Lindsey in 2017, racking up 1,391 yards and 18 touchdowns with the Auburn Tigers, one year before being drafted by the Detroit Lions.
Johnson shared his thoughts on Michigan's hire of Lindsey on Thursday amid conversation surrounding the Wolverines' latest coaching staff addition.

"Great get first and foremost...Will bring good energy and put the players in position to succeed!" Johnson said on X. "The rest will be on the players...he will do his part," the former Detroit Lions second rounder added.
Lindsey joined North Carolina in 2022 as the team's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, helping to develop New England Patriots rookie Drake Maye into a top three NFL Draft pick this past April in Detroit, MI.
Johnson's comments on the 50-year-old former head coach drew responses from fans on his X account as they shared their thoughts on the former Tiger's take.
"I love to see it!!!" one fan said in response.
"Coach Kerryon I still have that 33 jersey in Honolulu blue. Legend," another added.
"I thought he did a nice job mixing in new passing concepts into Gus' (Malzahn, former Auburn head coach) base O," another fan added.
