Wolves supporters can’t believe Gary O’Neil is still in charge at Molineux despite the club’s awful run of form.
The Wanderers have lost three Premier League games on the spin against sides from which they were expected to take points, including Bournemouth, Everton, and West Ham.
Now sitting 19th in the league table, Gary O’Neil is set to take charge against Ipswich on Saturday, having received a vote of confidence from the Wolves owners.
Although the supporters have had to suffer through a horrible season so far, the fans don’t entirely blame O’Neil, as they understand the role Fosun have played during their demise.
The constant penny-pinching and selling of their best players without replacing them has handed the manager a difficult hand to play.
Now, ahead of their home showdown against the Tractor Boys, O’Neil has revealed how he truly feels about the Wolves fanbase.

Gary O’Neil is ‘disappointed’ with the Wolves fans
Wolves are a fairly big club that should be challenging in the top half of the Premier League table.
Sadly, a lack of ambition from the owner and leading the club on a downward spiral has seen them constantly battle for relegation in recent seasons.

Eventually, the fans accept that Wolves could fall through the trapdoor and suffer relegation back to the Championship, but they hold out hope that a turnaround is on the horizon.
That being said, they’re also right to direct their frustrations to what they’re watching after witnessing just two league wins since April.
O’Neil has the annoyance of fans on his back, and rightfully so, but he feels ‘disappointed’ that he’s lost the connection he once had with the supporters.
“I’m fine, I love these tough moments,” O’Neil said via the E&S. “I’m really disappointed that I seem to have lost the connection with the fans. I understand them pointing the finger at me, of course I do.
“I’m the one in charge. I’m the one that the team is suffering these results under, but that’s my only real disappointment in this.
“I know that supporting a football club that is not winning football matches is tough. I know it is.
“But I can guarantee them that nobody is doing more for their football club than me in every single moment. There is never a moment’s doubt in whether I need to pick myself up or not. It’s always, let’s go.”
Can O’Neil ever get the fans back onside?
Supporters felt that after the Bournemouth defeat, O’Neil’s time in the dugout was up, never mind after losses against Everton and West Ham.
But, from some sections of the fanbase, there was a realisation that Wolves have sold their best players in the past few years and that has equally contributed to their demise.
In terms of O’Neil getting the fans back on side, it seems an impossible task at the moment but if they can secure wins over Ipswich and Leicester City, perhaps the pressure on him will be relieved somewhat.
That being said, Wolves are struggling to find a replacement for O’Neil because no one wants to work under Fosun.
Indeed, five managers have rejected the Old Gold, including Graham Potter, and this explains why the Englishman is being kept in his role.
