It has been a whirlwind week for Everton, who have seen plenty thrown their way since their last game against Wolves.

The final game against Liverpool at Goodison Park will now be rescheduled after Storm Darragh postponed the Merseyside Derby.

But results went Everton’s way over the weekend which has maintained their five-point gap on the bottom three but now with a game in hand.

This literal whirlwind came amid Everton’s ongoing takeover saga with The Friedkin Group expected to take over next week on Merseyside.

However, there was one story away from the pitch which captured the hearts of many Evertonians with a young fan making his way to Goodison for the postponed game on Saturday.

And he has since paid a visit to Finch Farm after an invitation from the club.

The interviewer then shared how Kinsella received a signed shirt, gloves from Jordan Pickford and an invitation from Dyche to join the team huddle during training.

“I still can’t believe that, to be honest,” the 15-year-old replied.

There were some potential benefits for Everton with the Merseyside Derby being postponed as the game will likely not be played for months.

Plenty could change over that period with some significant off-field developments in the works.

Everton continue to impress off the pitch

It was a great gesture from the club as they made sure the young fan’s journey from Sydney was not a wasted one.

So, it just goes to show the club are doing a lot of good away from the pitch even if they are struggling to nail down their performances on it.

Fans will now just be hoping that this community spirit at the club is not lost when The Friedkin Group get the keys to Goodison.
