Man United have named their price for Marcus Rashford

[Manchester United](https://www.sportsjoe.ie/tag/manchester-united) are reportedly willing to sell Marcus Rashford as the club seeks to raise funds for manager Ruben Amorim’s ambitious squad rebuild.

According to _Mail Sport_, the Red Devils have significantly lowered their asking price for the England international, with offers of around **£40 million** now under consideration.

This represents a sharp decline in valuation from just a year ago, when Rashford’s prolific 30-goal season under Erik ten Hag had prompted the club to demand over £100 million for him.

However, with United needing to meet profit and sustainability regulations while also providing funds for new signings, offloading homegrown players like Rashford is seen as a financially strategic move.

Under Premier League financial rules, sales of academy products count as 100% profit on the balance sheet, making Rashford a valuable asset to sell.

While a January transfer is considered unlikely, the decision to entertain offers for a fan favourite and local hero highlights the financial pressures currently facing the club.

Rashford’s dip in form this season and United’s underwhelming performances have also contributed to speculation about his future.

Reports suggest that United are also exploring other ways to generate funds but are reluctant to sell rising stars like Kobbie Mainoo or Alejandro Garnacho, who are viewed as pivotal to the club’s future.

Despite this, the financial strain could force difficult decisions, with Mainoo and Garnacho potentially vulnerable if no other significant sales materialise.

Meanwhile, 17-year-old Lille defender Leny Yoro, valued at £59 million, is reportedly a key target for Amorim and has been labelled “untouchable” by United as they aim to reshape the squad.

These developments underline the drastic steps United are prepared to take as they attempt to navigate financial constraints and support Amorim’s long-term vision for success at Old Trafford.
