Sandro Tonali’s agent has categorically denied suggestions his client is eyeing a return to Serie A.

Italian reports yesterday claimed the 24-year-old was unsettled on Tyneside given his lack of game time this season. Eddie Howe has eased Tonali back into Premier League life following his 10-month ban for breaching betting regulations.

But in a robust rebuffall, his agent, Giuseppe Riso, slammed the reports while highlighting Tonali’s love from the Newcastle fans. He told Fabrizio Romano: “Sandro is absolutely not considering returning to Serie A.

"I think he has performed really well the last few games. I have been really pleased with how he is finding his feet in the team."
