The Academy of Medical Sciences is pleased to announce that the following Fellows have been elected to the Academy Council. Each will serve a three-year term of office.

The Academy received 12 nominations for four places on Council this year. The election was conducted as an online ballot by Civica Election Services, with voting taking place between 2 October and 7 November using the single transferrable vote system.
Voter turnout this year was 42%, with a total of 611 Fellows participating in the election - the highest election turnout rate to date.
In addition to the four new members, Professor Franklin Aigbirhio FMedSci and Dr Felicity Gabbay FMedSci have been re-appointed as co-opted members of Council for a further year of service.
In the new year, the Academy’s Nominations Committee will explore the co-option of additional Council members to increase the breadth of representation in terms of geography, speciality and sector expertise.
