Wolves are gearing up for a pivotal summer transfer window, and some supporters will fear the idea of their best players being sold.
In the summer, Pedro Neto and Max Kilman were the latest stars to be sold on for huge profits as Fosun’s transfer model continued to frustrate fans.
Now, it’s Wolves forward Matheus Cunha who is being touted with a move away from Molineux after firing seven goals and supplying three assists this term.
Man United have already shown interest in Cunha, but luckily, the Old Gold have a trick up their sleeves to keep the Brazilian.
Wolves plan on offering Cunha a lucrative new contract, improving his current deal, which expires in 2027, and offering them financial security in case he does want to leave.
That being said, the 25-year-old appears to be happy in Wolverhampton despite the fact they’re currently fighting off relegation.

Matheus Cunha drops huge hint on Wolves’ future
Ahead of their relegation showdown with Ipswich, Cunha has already labelled O’Neil as ‘unbelievable’ for how much he’s improved as a player since arriving.
Cunha hasn’t just praised the manager, though, as he’s also waxed lyrical over the fans who have helped him feel at home.

Incidentally, it’s the supporters who could help the attacker stay at the club beyond January, something he hinted at in an interview with the Wolves’ official website.
“I feel like it’s my home. I feel the admiration of the fans, and this is something that I never believed I would get when I first came here, to a small city in England, which is completely different from my hometown – but now I feel like I’m at home,” Cunha said.
“The fans are unbelievable with me, with my family, and I have only great things to say about my teammates. But to go to the stadium and to perform for them is like I feel at home.
“I feel like I want to do everything I can to change the situation, because when you play with a little bit more passion, not as if it was just my work, then I think you put in a little bit more things that can change it.”
Feeling at ‘home’ in Wolverhampton is a sign that Cunha wouldn’t jump ship easily, although there is one outcome that would see him immediately sold.
Relegation would start a fire sale at Wolves
It’s impossible to ignore that Wolves are in deep trouble at the bottom of the Premier League, and relegation is on the cards.
Currently four points from safety with a huge clash against Ipswich on Saturday, failure to win that game could see the gap extend further before facing Ruud van Nistelrooy’s rejuvenated Leicester side.
In the event Wolves are relegated to the Championship, they’d find it impossible to hold onto their star talents on big wages, and Cunha is at the top of the list.
Players likely to leave Wolves following relegation
Matheus Cunha
Rayan Ait-Nouri
Mario Lemina
Andre
Joao Gomes
Hwang Hee-chan
Goncalo Guedes
Pablo Sarabia
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde
Some of the above players will leave in the summer regardless of relegation but Wolves fans will know, that dropping to the Championship will only result in their squad being decimated.
