On December 11, 2024, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin attended and addressed online a high-level meeting of the Group of Friends of Neutrality for Peace, Security and Sustainable Development held in Turkmenistan.
Liu Bin said that as a permanent neutral country, Turkmenistan has played a constructive role in maintaining international and regional peace and stability. The Group of Friends of Neutrality initiated by Turkmenistan builds a useful platform for like-minded countries to enhance understanding and mutual trust, promote preventive diplomacy, and deepen multilateral cooperation.
Liu Bin noted that under the strategic leadership of the top leaders of the two countries, China and Turkmenistan have witnessed continuously deepening political mutual trust, steadily advancing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, flourishing people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and increasingly close international cooperation. China is ready to work together with Turkmenistan, international organizations represented by the United Nations (UN), and other countries in the world to promote the building of an open, inclusive, clean and beautiful world that enjoys lasting peace, universal security and common prosperity.
Representatives from Russia, Kazakhstan, Iran, Qatar and other countries as well as UN officials attended the meeting.
