With Chelsea sitting second in the Premier League right now, there is a lot of excitement about the situation they find themselves in under the new manager.
Despite it being Enzo Maresca’s first season as a top flight boss, he has taken to the task of managing the Blues’ large squad perfectly.
A number of individuals have upped their game too, making it very difficult for the boss to decide who should be starting league games.
Maresca decided to drop Enzo Fernandez for a couple of weeks after his performances were not up to par. However, he is now in incredible form and contributing regularly with goals and assists.

Moises Caicedo the highest-rated midfielder in the Premier League
The World Cup winner has been partnering Moises Caicedo for large portions of the season. The Ecuador international has started every league game so far this season.
Pundits have been in awe of the midfielder’s performances this season in particular. Ally McCoist recently described Caicedo as ‘excellent’.
The stats seem to back up just how important he is for Chelsea. According to WhoScored, Caicedo is the highest rated midfielder in the Premier League so far this season.

The boss has been able to rest Caicedo when Conference League action comes around, and this has allowed him to perform at the highest level domestically.
Caicedo could be about to change positions permanently
Over the last few Premier League games, Maresca has experimented with starting Caicedo as the right-back in the side.
This has allowed Fernandez to start with Romeo Lavia in the middle of the park, while the Ecuadorian joins the pair when they attack.
Maresca has said that Caicedo could feature in the right-back role more prominently, with it very difficult to leave any of the players out based on current form.
A fully-fit Reece James feels as if he would be the perfect option to play in that role, however unfortunately he seems to have not been able to shrug off his injury problems despite having surgery last season.
