NFL mock draft, top 10 picks: Which QBs land with Raiders, Giants? | The Athletic

2. New York Giants: Cam Ward, QB, Miami. The team drafting Ward early in the first round has to have a plan in place. Let’s not rule out that Ward will be ready to start by next September. It’s definitely possible, as he’s made major developmental strides every season. Same time, even after five years in college, he still has many habits in need of breaking — which is going to take time and patience.

If the Giants draft Ward with a lame-duck coach and GM fighting for their respective jobs, then wind up forcing Ward into the fray before he’s ready, this would be a mess. If they draft Ward and surround him with a real long-term strategy, incorporating people who are going to be there, then it would have a chance.

No Shedeur for Giants?

"I'm being told through reliable sources, Cam Ward is going to the NY Giants guaranteed. And Miami's OC is going with him. Deion's not letting his kid go to NY. He wants him on the Raiders"

Could the Giants trade down in the NFL Draft for Jalen Milroe? | New York Post

Paul Schwartz asks: What if the Giants traded down in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft to gain extra picks and to select Jalen Milroe as the quarterback of the future?

This is not a prediction or an endorsement, but perhaps a conversation that can take our minds off what is going on nowadays with the Giants, which can be summed up in four words: pretty much nothing good.

Best 2024 NFL rookies: Ranking the top 10 players through Week 14 | ESPN.com

T-6. Malik Nabers, WR, New York Giants. Nabers is the Giants' No. 1 offensive option and has been one of the league's best rookie receivers. He ranks eighth in receiving yards per game (74.5) and still has the highest possible open score (99) to lead the league, per ESPN Analytics.

Coach Brian Daboll has used Nabers in the slot as well. His ability to run after the catch has made an impact, as defenders struggle to bring him to the ground. Despite his youth (Nabers turned 21 in July) he has established himself as the Giants' clear go-to target.

Five Alarming Trends Established by the Giants This Season | SI.com

The New York Giants' main goal every year is to be competitive against their division rivals but against everyone. Suffice it to say that the Giants, at 2-11, have come up woefully short in accomplishing that objective due to a variety of reasons, from injuries to coaching to quarterback play to the defense and special teams.

Among the reasons are sloppiness, slow starts, failure on third downs and a lack of scoring.

What if Giants keep Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll? Why it’s more complicated than just another chance in 2025 | NJ.com

The Giants are 2-11 — and 8-22 since the start of last season — so it’s certainly possible that co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch will fully clean house.

That’s the harsh reality for the third-year regime of general manager Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll.

John Harbaugh: Playing our best football is important, everything else is a sideshow | Pro Football Talk

Head coach John Harbaugh only wants the team to be thinking about what’s in front of them because they need to take care of their own business before thinking about anything else.

“We want to play our best football right now — that’s what we’re really focusing on doing,” Harbaugh said, via the team’s website. “Everything else is just a sideshow; everything else is just a distraction. None of it is important. What’s important is our football. The football. Getting the football right, playing our best football that we’re capable of playing, everybody locked in for that – that’s really what it’s all about. Nothing else matters; everything else is just static."

3. RB Derrick Henry, Baltimore Ravens. Who says signing running backs on the wrong side of 30 is risky? Henry has looked like his vintage self in his first year playing alongside MVP frontrunner Lamar Jackson, leading all qualified players at his position in PFF overall grade (91.9) while sitting in the top five in yards after contact, missed tackles forced, yards per carry and runs of 15-plus yards. He isn’t ranked ahead of Barkley only because he benefits from playing in a passing offense that ranks first in EPA per play, whereas Philadelphia slots 15th.
