On December 12, Mr. FUJII Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from Ambassador (Ret.) Susan M. Elliott, President and CEO of the National Committee on American Foreign Policy (NCAFP), and her delegation. A summary of the courtesy call is as follows.
At the outset, State Minister FUJII welcomed their visit to Japan and extended congratulations to President Elliott on her receipt of the FY2024 Foreign Minister’s Commendation. He also expressed respect for her longstanding efforts to promote and disseminate the importance of the Japan-U.S. alliance.
The two sides exchanged views on regional affairs and Japan-U.S. relations. President Elliott expressed her pleasure at the opportunity for a fruitful exchange of views, particularly in light of the increasingly severe international situation.
