Jadon Sancho has spoken about Chelsea's Premier League title challenge
Jadon Sancho has revealed he and his Chelsea team-mates are not getting carried away with talk of a Premier League title charge.
The Blues have enjoyed an impressive start to the season under new manager Enzo Maresca. They currently sit second in the table, just four points off leaders Liverpool after 15 games, although the Reds do have a game in hand.
The 24-year-old winger has rediscovered his form since moving to Stamford Bridge on loan from Manchester United in the summer. Sancho has insisted, however, that even though their lofty position has discussed in the dressing room, the squad are keeping their feet firmly on the ground.
Asked if Chelsea are trying to shut out chatter revolving around the club challenging for the title, Sancho told Sky Sports: “Nah, but that’s what all the guys are saying to each other. Like, we haven’t done anything yet.”

Sancho's promising career looked to have stalled following his £73million move to United from Dortmund in 2021 after he fell out of favour with former Old Trafford boss Erik ten Hag and was banished from the first team. But following his transfer deadline day switch to west London, the former Manchester City youth star has featured 10 times for Maresca's team this term and is fast becoming a key figure for Chelsea.
Bagging two goals and five assists so far, the gifted wide man also spearheaded a dramatic comeback for the Blues against Tottenham last weekend. With Chelsea two goals down, Sancho went on a dizzy run through Spurs' backline and unleashed a fierce strike that keeper Fraser Forster had little chance of stopping to kickstart Chelsea's 4-3 comeback victory.
As it stands, Sancho is currently completing 1.9 dribbles per game in the Premier League, the highest average in Chelsea’s squad. According to Who Scored, he is also averaging 0.8 shots per game, and adding to his five goal involvements already, it's a rapid change from his time at United where he only directly contributed to 18 goals across 83 appearances for the Red Devils.

His up-turn in form is not going unnoticed either. Maresca has talked in glowing terms over his in-form winger, but has warned the young star that he must keep it up if he wants to feature in what's set to be a thrilling season for Chelsea.
"Since we started, the reason why Jadon came here is because we think Jadon is going to help us," Maresca said after the Blues beat Spurs. "Unfortunately he had small problems so he was out for a while. Now he is back and the only thing he has to do is continue in the same way. He cannot drop, otherwise he is not going to play."
Sancho himself has admitted that he has rediscovered his joy for the game since joining the Blues. "From day one, they made me feel welcome at Chelsea," Sancho told Super Sport TV.
"I know that I have a lot of people to prove wrong. I've been working very hard. Let me say thank you to the staff and the team for believing in me and giving me the opportunity."
