Every injury Callum Wilson has suffered at Newcastle United as striker ruled out yet again with …

Callum Wilson just can’t catch a break, with his time at Newcastle United being blighted by injuries since the start.

Veteran Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson missed the start of the 2024/25 campaign with a back problem that kept him out of action until the end of November.

Now the 32-year-old has been hit with yet another agonising set-back and is set for more time on the sidelines after just four substitute appearances since his return.

Taking to social media on Thursday morning, Wilson revealed he has been forced to ‘take a little step backwards’ in his quest to return to full fitness.

He added: “Frustrating as it is for everyone out there waiting for my return and to be able to help the team, these shortcomings also upset and frustrate me more than anybody else.”

Wilson has a long history of injuries throughout his career after suffering not one but two cruciate ligament tears while at Bournemouth, which saw him miss a combined 69 games and 449 days of his career.

While he’s never had such a long layoff since moving to St. James’ Park in 2020, Wilson has suffered a laundry list of injuries over the years.

His latest setback is the 15th time he has been ruled out of action in four and a half years and here is his full injury history at Newcastle.

The England international’s contract at the club expires this coming summer and if he doesn’t get back to full fitness soon, his time at the club may be at risk.

It’s heartbreaking for Wilson to spend so much time in the treatment room only to return back there shortly afterwards.

When explaining his latest setback, Wilson wrote: “Despite all the hard work I’ve put in pushing to get back to full fitness, I need to take a little step backwards unfortunately, guys.

“Frustrating as it is for everyone out there waiting for my return and to be able to help the team, these shortcomings also upset and frustrate me more than anybody else.

“I will, and I am doing everything in my power to rediscover the best version of myself and finally get off this emotional rollercoaster, which I’m hoping 2025 will bring.

“Appreciate the patience, love and support from all those closest that know how hard I really work and how professional I always am.”
