Everton were unable to to face their local rivals on the weekend after their game against Liverpool was called off.
The final-ever Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park was postponed due to the severe effects of Storm Darragh which came in over the weekend.
This has meant bragging rights in the city have been delayed until further notice, but that has not stopped Jamie Carragher from taking a swipe at one former Everton player.
Carragher praised Everton’s new stadium recently for what its construction could bring to the local community.
But he was unable to hold back on Wednesday night during his on-air punditry slot for the Champions League fixtures when speaking about Landon Donovan.

What Jamie Carragher said about former Everton attacker Landon Donovan
It is only a matter of weeks since Carragher criticised Ashley Young for his display in the away defeat to Southampton.
And speaking on CBS Sport, Carragher hit back at Donovan’s recent comments that Gio Reyna should be playing his football in the MLS instead of with Borussia Dortmund.
“Do you think Landon Donovan’s saying that because he never cut it abroad?” Carragher said.

“I mean, I think he did it in spells,” replied Clint Dempsey.
“He did it in terms of his loan spells, but he never did it for a full season. So you know what I mean?”
With Kate Scott laughing at Carragher’s comments, Thierry Henry said: “Jamie, let the man be. Stop cooking him.”
Although the 46-year-old slammed Donovan, he has not spoken negatively about some other former players with Carragher admitting he feared Duncan Ferguson when playing Everton.
How bad was Landon Donovan for Everton?
It was not just Everton who the American played for in Europe with the attacker also spending time in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich.
Donovan spent two short loan spells at Goodison Park in 2010 and 2012 where his playing time was limited to just two months in each loan.
However, the forward did struggle to find the back of the net during his time on Merseyside.

Carragher has also hailed Neville Southall as being the best goalkeeper to ever play the game of football.
Considering the former Liverpool player has had no issues in praising former Everton players, it just goes to show how poorly he rated Donovan.
