Mohamed Salah’s goal proved to be the difference between the two sides at the Estadi Montilivi. He converted from the spot after Donny van de Beek brought down Díaz inside the box.

The Colombia international has stated Liverpool knew it wouldn’t be easy against the La Liga side.

_“Very happy for the team, which is the most important thing, rather than the individual,”_ he said.

_“It was a correct game that we came to win, we played a game that we wanted to play, we knew it would be difficult, but we have to continue like this to keep this great season with our feet on the ground.”_

The 27-year-old then urged his Liverpool teammates to be take sufficient rest in order to avoid setbacks ahead of the upcoming busy schedule. The Merseyside club will play 13 matches in all competitions between this Saturday and February 1st.

Arne Slot’s side are leading both the Premier League and the Champions League table this season and the South American wants Liverpool players and coaches to manage the workload well to prevent ‘unnecessary wear and tear’.

_“Continue resting because the series of matches is really tough, so you have to rest a lot. Very happy and content with the work, we have to continue like this and rest for what is coming,”_ Díaz explained.

The former FC Porto man is clearly concerned about what’s to come at Anfield. He scored nine goals and registered three assists from 21 games this season.
