Bill Belichick’s departure from the New England Patriots was surprising, sending shockwaves across the NFL.
Belichick and Tom Brady are often called one of the best player-coach duos in league history, winning six Super Bowls together.
Things weren’t quite the same for the Patriots after Brady left, and after a few seasons without him, Belichick decided to cut his losses and move on.
He might not have found a job for the 2024 season, but after spending a year away from the game, it was evident that Belichick didn’t want to stop coaching.
His recent acceptance of the UNC head coaching gig has received mixed reviews, but the long-time coach is slated to return to his true passion.
When thinking about what it will be like for Belichick to coach at the collegiate level, former Patriots player Ross Tucker didn’t mince words on “WEEI Afternoons,” holding back nothing about his true thoughts on Belichick at the college level.
“He would be, probably by far, the worst college head coach I could ever imagine,” Tucker said.

These words might seem harsh, but they seem genuine coming from Tucker, who spent one season with Belichick in New England.
Belichick clearly rubbed him the wrong way when he was on the Patriots and isn’t sure that his collegiate coaching run will be all that successful.
NCAA and NFL fans alike are looking forward to watching Belichick return to the college scene, wondering what the six-time Super Bowl winner can accomplish.
