Chelsea have refused all approaches for Benoit Badiashile and are adamant the defender will not be on the move this winter.

Badiashile joined Chelsea in a £32milllion switch from Monaco in January 2023 and there were high hopes for the centre-half, who was considered one of the brightest young talents in French football.

But Badiashile is yet to nail down a regular spot in the Blues’ first-choice XI and has made just four starts in all competitions since Enzo Maresca took over the reins from Mauricio Pochettino.

According to French publication RMC Sport, Badiashile is attracting strong interest from a number of potential suitors, including Juventus and an unnamed club in Ligue 1.

However, Chelsea have made it clear they have no intention of sanctioning a move for Badiashile at this stage and have ‘closed the door’ on the 23-year-old departing next month.

Badiashile – who has been capped twice by the French national team – is tied into a contract in west London until 2030.

The former Monaco man will hope to continue his run in Maresca’s line-up against Astana this afternoon after being handed a rare start in Chelsea’s comeback victory over Tottenham last weekend.

Facing the media last month, Badiashile insisted he had no thoughts about leaving Chelsea despite his lack of playing time.

‘Of course I want to stay, Chelsea is a big club. I know how it’s difficult to succeed here but I will try to do my best,’ he said.

‘When you are a footballer you want to play every game but in a club like Chelsea you have a lot of good players.

‘You have to use the minutes that you have and try to be your best.

‘I know how it is hard to play in this club with this kind of player.

‘The only thing I can do is work hard and try to convince the gaffer to play me at the weekend.’
