📈 Stock Report | Jets WRs Garrett Wilson, Davante Adams 'An Absolute Pain' for Defenses

📉 Jets Pass Defense

The Jets pass defense is coming off its worst performance of the season as it allowed 331 yards, which is a season high. Dolphins wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle combined for 19 catches, 214 yards and 1 TD.

The Green & White was without All-Pro CB Sauce Gardner (hamstring), who is slated to play this weekend.

"It's just a thing the trainers thought was best for me, but it definitely wasn't a severe issue," Gardner said. "That's why I'm already back this week."

Gardner will line up against talented Jags rookie WR Brian Thomas Jr., but QB Mac Jones has not thrown for a touchdown in his three starts this season (he had 2 in Week 13 in relief for Trevor Lawrence).

📉 Injuries

Both teams are dealing with injuries to key players on offense. The Jaguars placed QB Trevor Lawrence, the No. 1 overall pick in 2021, on injured reserve last week with head and shoulder injuries.

The Jets, meanwhile, could be without RB Breece Hall for a second consecutive game because of a knee injury he sustained against the Colts in Week 11. It's the same knee as his ACL injury in 2022.

"If there was a structural problem from the standpoint of like impacting his future with this team or his future with his career, we would definitely shut him down and if it was the best interest of Breece," interim HC Jeff Ulbrich said Wednesday. "We're not at that point right now, so we'll see how it goes."

The Green & White's special teams took a hit when Irvin Charles, the unit's ace, was placed on injured reserve with a torn ACL and RB-KR Kene Nwangwu did not practice Wednesday because of a hand injury.

"Trying to get more information regarding the hand," Ulbrich said. "We'll see what his status will be for this game."
