It might’ve taken two season, an Achilles tear, and a likely consecutive fourth place finishes in the AFC East, but Aaron Rodgers has finally realized what New York Jets fans have long known: the franchise is cursed.

Speaking to the media this week ahead of the Jets’ meaningless Week 15 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the 41-year-old four-time NFL MVP was asked about the culture of the organization, which will be looking for an entirely new direction in the offseason as the franchise looks to hire a new general manager and head coach.

According to Aaron Rodgers, the Jets might have “some sort of curse” and that the organization hasn’t been able to “get over the hunt.”

“It might be some sort of curse we’ve got to snap as well,” Rodgers said. “Whatever the case, this team, this organization is going to figure out how to get over the hump at some point.”

“The culture is built by the players. There’s a framework set down by the organization, by the upper ups, by the staff, but in the end it’s the players that make it come to life. At some point, everybody is going to have to figure out what that special sauce is to turn those games that should be wins into wins.”

So far this season, which is shaping up to be his first and last as the franchise’s starting QB given the incoming organizational changes, Rodgers has completed 63.1% of his passes for 2,966 yards, 20 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. Heading into Week 5, the Jets are tied for last in the AFC East with the Patriot with a record of 3-10.

The Jets’ final four games of the season will be against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins.
