Wolves are preparing to battle for three points at Molineux against newly-promoted Ipswich Town.
After Wolves lost 2-1 to West Ham, there were concerns about Gary O’Neil’s future as manager.
Fortunately for the boss, Fosun are willing to back O’Neil for the foreseeable future, with the January transfer window fast approaching.
For now, it’s imperative that Wolves win their next fixture against Ipswich, who are also fighting for Premier League survival early on.

Next up come Kieran McKenna’s squad, who will arrive at Molineux desperate for three points having recorded only one win all season.
Wolves are in a similar position having two victories for their name, sitting level on points with the newly-promoted side.
There’s a lot of noise about the manager that needs to be muted for the must-win game, which will be overseen by referee Simon Hooper, who isn’t appreciated by Wolves fans.

Reinforcing the need for a significant step up in performance was Tommy Doyle, who spoke to the club’s media team ahead of Saturday’s bottom-of-the-table showdown.
“Every game is massive,” Doyle said to Wolves’ official website.
“With the situation that we’re in now, every game is massive. We’ve got to roll up our sleeves and sort it out because obviously, it’s not good enough.”
The midfielder sent a stark message to his teammates ahead of kick-off at Molineux, calling for the squad to get stuck in and fight for an essential three points on week 16.
Wolves’ previous five meetings against Ipswich
The previous few fixtures have been considered must-wins at Wolves but arguably, beating Ipswich is the most important.
Given the look of the table at this moment in time, losing to a relegation rival in the run into the festive period would be a real concern for the Old Gold’s survival hopes.
The game must be approached with caution given that Wolves lost to Ipswich only last season, falling out of the EFL Cup to McKenna’s side back in September 2023.

Wolves’ last five fixtures vs Ipswich Town
Aside from the 2023 defeat, Wolves’ record against Ipswich in their previous five meetings has been encouraging, recording two wins and two draws.
Such fixtures were a long time ago now with Saturday’s duel offering an entirely different contest and the squad must simply rise to the challenge, as Doyle stressed.
