Two Liverpool players weren't in full training today ahead of Saturday's game with Fulham - journalist

Liverpool host Fulham in the Premier League at Anfield on Saturday as they aim to return to winning ways in the competitions after their 3-3 draw against Newcastle United.

They had the chance to make amends against Everton last weekend but the game was postponed on safety grounds due to the adverse weather conditions caused by Storm Darragh.

Arne Slot’s side did beat Girona in midweek to effectively seal their place in the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League, but with Chelsea breathing down their necks, they will look to get all three points in the Premier League.

But it appears as if they will have to make do without Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota as the pair continue to remain on the sidelines.

Jota hasn’t featured since being substituted in the 2-0 win against Chelsea, having suffered a rib injury.

Chiesa, on the other hand, has played just 78 minutes for Liverpool since joining from Juventus as he continues to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League.

Ahead of the game against Fulham, Paul Gorst has delivered an injury update on the duo as he confirmed that they are training away from the group, with the rest of the squad training normally at the AXA Training Centre currently.

Chiesa missed the game against Girona due to illness and was expected to feature against Fulham.

However, with the Italy international continuing to train away from the squad, it remains to be seen if that’s the case.

What does Liverpool’s injury list look like?

In recent weeks, Liverpool have had mixed luck in terms of injuries.

Alisson Becker and Harvey Elliott are back in the squad after missing a lot of football in the first half of the season as they featured against Girona in midweek.

However, the likes of Ibrahima Konate, Conor Bradley and Kostas Tsimikas are out for the foreseeable future, while Jota and Chiesa are still training away from the group.

Arne Slot is set to address the media tomorrow ahead of the game against Fulham, where he’s likely to give an update on the status of his squad.
