Raiders Coach Antonio Pierce Is On Pace With Josh McDaniels to Start Head Coaching Career

The Las Vegas Raiders are a horrendously bad football team, but most fans may not realize just how bad they have been.

Through 13 weeks of the NFL season, the team is sitting at 2-11 and is searching for answers, but it doesn't appear there is any on their roster, especially at quarterback.

Because of the team's misfortune and poor play, Antonio Pierce is on pace to lose more games through his first 25 than Josh McDaniels. The reason the mark is 25 games is because that's how many McDaniels was the head coach for before he was fired. The Raiders will need to scrape out two more wins in the next three games to avoid that ugly record. In fact, if they go 2-1 in their next three, Pierce would match McDaniels' record at 9-16.

It's a long shot with the Raiders not even knowing who their quarterback will be on Monday against the Atlanta Falcons. There is a chance Aidan O'Connell is able to play after being carted off against the Buccaneers. However, the most likely outcome is a revenge game for former Falcon and current Raider Desmond Ridder, or undrafted rookie quarterback Carter Bradley gets the nod.

Ridder has struggled in his short appearances with the Raiders this year, having only 239 yards, one touchdown, and a QBR of 31.0 to show for it.

All of this is to say the Raiders are in a precarious position and will need to pull off some miracles to help out their head coach.

While it is unclear if Pierce will be fired following this season, having a worse record through 25 games than the man fired before him won't help his case.
